Hard Rock Atlantic City will reopen July 2, per the announcement from Gov. Phil Murphy on Monday.
And when it does, the idea is to make its employees and customers comfortable. Exactly how to do so is part of the “Safe + Sound” plan that Hard Rock announced via a press release earlier this week.
Here are the highlights that apply to guests and team members:
- Mandated masks
- Temperature checks
- A new “Safe + Sound” clean team.
- Increased quality air circulation.
- AtlantiCare partnership focused on contact tracing, training, telehealth and more.
Joe Lupo, the president of Hard Rock AC, said developing new protocols has been the top priority over the last several months. Lupo said:
“We look forward to welcoming back our loyal guests and team members for an exciting summer at the Jersey Shore. … Creating the ‘Safe + Sound’ protocols, implementing detailed training programs and carefully cleaning the property will provide the most thorough and responsible approach in Atlantic City, providing good clean fun for all.”

Atlantic City casinos are waiting for Gov. Phil Murphy to announce a reopening plan. Sometime before the Fourth of July weekend could be a possibility.
The Garden State entered Phase Two earlier this week. On Thursday, Murphy announced plans for the reopening of indoor shopping malls.

State-mandated casino guidelines are likely to be announced later this month.
In the meantime, Hard Rock is taking the necessary health and safety measures as it prepares to resume gambling operation during the pandemic. They will include:
- There will be 1,000 air filters frequently changed out in common areas throughout the building.
- The air quality system within Hard Rock AC will provide approximately 10 to 12 air changes per hour, maximizing the exchange of fresh air.
- Hard Rock will follow thorough and upgraded cleaning guidelines, including frequently disinfecting high-touch surfaces.
- Plexiglas will be installed at the casino cage, Wildcard services, sportsbook and select table games.
- Guests will be required to keep one vacant position between slots and at table games.
- Due to occupancy restrictions, guests must be 21 years or older to visit Hard Rock AC unless they have a hotel or restaurant reservation.
All these guidelines are similar to those previously announced by neighboring properties.
Resorts has a “Play Safe, Work Safe” plan.
And the MGM-owned Borgatashared the details of its seven-point safety plan last month.
Additionally, Hard Rock is using thermal technology as part of its Safe + Sound plans. The company demonstrates how the system works on the HRAC Facebook page.
Our commitment to the safety of our guests and team members has always been paramount. Our new thermal imaging technology is a differentiator and we look forward to safely welcoming you back.
